23 October 2026. This policy covers the Gapeye app on iPhone and Android. The store name is Gapeye - Ai Measure the Gap. The home-screen name is Gapeye.
Who is responsible
The data controller is EUROPAPARTS CONTINENTAL S.L., CIF B26996587, Calle Pau Claris 100, P.1, 08009 Barcelona, Spain. Contact: info@gapeye.com. These pages are published at gapeye.com.
Camera and measuring stay on the phone
You choose width, height, diagonal, or volume, then tap the points. Diagonal is two opposite corners, or width and height with the app calculating the diagonal. Volume is length, height, and depth, and the app calculates it. The camera and the motion sensors do that work on your phone. We do not upload a live camera stream. We do not ask for your location, and we do not record audio. The iPhone permission list includes a microphone sentence because the augmented-reality toolkit adds it. The app does not use the microphone. A bank card is an optional scale on a separate screen. The app does not read a card number. The photograph on that screen stays on the phone unless you save the measure with Gapeye Pro. That screen does not send the photo to Ask Ai.
Account, stored in the European Union
You can take two measures before you create an account. A measure counts when the app produces a finished size, not when the camera opens. On the tap screen that is when the points for the chosen mode are done. On the camera screen that is when a complete width, height, or calculated diagonal is shown. On the bank-card screen that is when you tap Use this. The same finished reading does not count twice. Opening the camera does not count. Starting a third measure, or tapping Ask Ai, asks you to sign in. Ask Ai itself is not a counted measure. Sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Basic, the free account, includes unlimited measuring and 5 Ai answers for the life of the account. Measure & save and a PDF are part of Gapeye Pro. When you save a measure we store the label, the notes, the mode, the dimensions, the calculated result, the ± range, a photo if you saved one, and the Ai answer if there is one. There is no fit verdict and no size chart. The record is kept on the phone. A photo under 180,000 characters is also stored on our secure cloud servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, eu-central-1). A larger photo stays on the phone. Our EU cloud hosting provider acts as our processor. The count of Ai answers is stored with the account.
Ai and photos
Ask Ai sends the mode, the measurements, the ± range, and, if you attached them, the photo and an optional note to our server. Our cloud AI service processes them only to write generic advice. We do not use that photo to train a public model. A free answer is counted only after a usable reply comes back. Your region setting goes with the request as a market hint. The bank-card screen does not send a photo to Ask Ai.
Ads and consent
The free app shows ads through Google AdMob. The splash, the two trial measures, the measuring screen, and the whole first session are ad-free. Ads are not shown until there is an account, and they never cover the camera. They can appear on Settings and Account from the second session. Gapeye Pro removes ads.
Before personalised ads, Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form is shown where Google requires it: the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and for US state privacy laws. On iPhone we also ask App Tracking Transparency after that form. If you refuse, we do not request personalised ads.
When ads are allowed, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares, for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention: the IP address (which can estimate an approximate location), how you interact with an ad, diagnostic information about the SDK, and device identifiers such as the advertising ID. We do not sell personal data.
Purchases
Gapeye Pro is an annual subscription sold by Apple or Google, product id pro_annual. We do not see your card number. RevenueCat, acting as our processor, links the store receipt to your user id so Pro follows the account. The price is shown by the store before you pay.
Crash reports
If crash reporting is switched on, Sentry receives a crash report: the app version, the device type, and a stack trace. It does not receive your photos, your measurements, or your email. Sentry acts as our processor. You can use Gapeye with crash reporting left off.
Why we use the data
- Contract: to provide the account, keep Measure & save for Pro, count Ai answers, and honour Gapeye Pro.
- Consent: personalised ads, App Tracking Transparency, and sending the mode, the measurements, a photo, and an optional note when you tap Ask Ai. You can withdraw consent in the device settings and in the UMP form, and by not using Ask Ai.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and reliable, including crash reports. Measuring itself stays on the phone.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you delete the account or ask us to delete it. Apple and Google keep purchase records under their own rules. Ad partners keep advertising data under their policies and your consent choice.
Your rights
If the GDPR or the UK GDPR applies, you can ask for access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and to object. You can withdraw consent. In the app, open Settings, then Account, then “Download my data” or “Delete account”. You can also use the account deletion page or email us. We respond within 30 days.
You can complain to a supervisory authority. The lead authority for the controller is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) in Spain. If you are in the UK you can contact the ICO.
If you are in Brazil, the LGPD gives you access, correction, deletion, and information about sharing. If you are in Canada, PIPEDA gives you access and correction, and the right to challenge our compliance. If you are in Australia, the Privacy Act 1988 gives you access and correction, and you may complain to the OAIC. The same email and the same in-app deletion apply. This page does not reduce a mandatory local right.
Do not sell or share
We do not sell personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, and similar US state laws, “share” includes using personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Ads may share a device identifier with Google if you allow personalised ads. You can opt out in the app: Settings → Privacy → Do not sell or share. On iPhone and Android that opens Google’s US privacy-options form when the form is required. You can also email info@gapeye.com with the subject “Do not sell or share”. We will not discriminate against you for using this right.
Children
The app is not directed at anyone under 16. For the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), it is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete it.
Where the app is offered
The app is offered in every territory the stores make available, except mainland China. Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan stay available. The same policy applies everywhere the app is available.
